This Time We Can Make A Difference! Welcome Message It's time for a change. In 1992, California received 92 cents for every dollar we paid in federal taxes. Today we get less than 76 cents. At the same time, over 52% of our nation's registered voters were Democrats. Today we have less than 39%. And now we're facing 20-40% cuts in local services while billions are being spent in Iraq. By any measure, we're going backwards. This campaign is about bringing strong federal partnership to help our local officials and rejuvenating our Democratic Party. We can't afford another two years with the current leadership. We need your energy, your passion, your idealism, your time, and contributions. Progressives: What the Democratic party is currently doing isn't working. We need to change our tactics while staying true to our ideals. Moderates: We need to dedicate ourselves to building coalitions of common interests to get things done. Conservatives: We need to expand our tent to include all those who cherish our Democratic principles. Independents and undeclared voters: You know what you're currently getting in Congress. Aren't you ready for a change? This campaign is larger than one motivated citizen running against an entrenched incumbent. It's about the future of the Democratic Party and the 6th Congressional District's role in that future. Do we want to make a difference or continue things as they've been for the past 10+ years?
